ELA Class Read-Aloud: "Me, Jane"

This week, out whole class will listen to a read-aloud. See below for your activities related to this whole-class activity.  

ELA STATION 1: INDEPENDENT READING

Read for 30 minutes each day.
Using Epic Books, read one of the books from your reading group's collection    OR
If you would like to reduce your screen time, you may substitute for a physical book at home. 

To log into Epic, go to https://www.getepic.com/ and log in to our class using the code PXE1102

Click on "My Mailbox" to see the books I have assigned you! 

ELA STATION 2: VOCABULARY

Practice the vocabulary words from our whole-class read-aloud.

We are using Quizlet to study vocabulary. You can join our class by clicking, here.

Try three activities this week to practice your words. Choose from: Gravity, Match, Learn, Write, or Test.

ELA STATION 3: COMPREHENSION

We will use FlipGrid to show your understanding of the book we are reading this week. 

ELA STATION 4: PHONICS

We will be using Letterland Online to practice our phonics skills while we are away from school. 
Students can log in by going to: https://child.letterland.com/ 

Our school code is: vlbd198

Student usernames are their first names (i.e. Mary) and their passwords are Stars1

Once logged in, click on "Phonics Games" to get started. Use this resource about 15 minutes each day.

ELA STATION 5: RUNNERS 

Use Newsela to choose one of this week's two assigned articles.
Practice RUNNERS to read, analyze, and take the quiz to show your understanding.

MATH WEEKLY FOCUS

This week, we are focusing on adding and subtracting within 1,000. 

Click here to watch a video reviewing some strategies we already know, applied to numbers within 1,000.

Practice this concept on Khan Academy,  I would suggest practicing for 15 minutes/day.
